If local necessity or poverty command that they personally gather the farming produce, they will not complain. Because a monk is truly thus when he lives of the fruit of his hands, like our fathers the Apostles..."

The monks have adopted a low environmental impact, integrated farming process on the estate. This system respects natural resources and preserves biodiversity. The principles that guide decisions such as which crops to grow aim to contain soil erosion and maintain soil fertility through crop rotation and organic techniques.
